Frida Kahlo socks

The Mexican painter is one of the most important representatives of a popular development of Surrealism, whereby her work sometimes showed elements of New Objectivity. This combination with autobiographical reference places her work far above Naive Art. Frida Kahlo advanced to become a strong personality of her gender, in contrast to the social image of women prevailing at the time. She not only made a name for herself as a painter, but also as an emancipated woman who, despite her lifelong health problems, fought politically for peace and freedom. Meanwhile, her physical pain as well as her childishness became the main theme of her numerous works.
